P R I S M A --- # 1 - 8

There is an app called Prisma that I've noticed people starting to use which has a number of very effective artistic filters you can apply to photographs you take on your phone. With a bit of jiggery-pokery, I've been able to apply a number of these filters to some of my experimental Daz renders from the last few years, almost all of which have never been shown off on account of being too grainy, not resolved enough, or just because they were ideas that never went anywhere.

Because Prisma's filters are so powerful, I've been able to transform my slightly ratty test images into very presentable pieces of artwork that put my own efforts at emulating oil painting and artistic effects to shame!

Many of these tests concentrate on Alpha-Tales-style size ratios and scenarios, and if you look closely you can see some ideas explored as part of the evolution of GH-X2 itself.

B F G _ A N G L E L A N D

One of my favourite moments each week is at some point around Wednesday lunchtime, when a new chapter for the giantess story BFG Angleland is uploaded.

The Doctor, or a0040pc as he is also known, has been diligently adding to this tall tale, a fantasy spin-off from a pre-existing Big Friendly Giantess series he has penned, which documents the adventures of wannabe knight Tucker and his occasionally giant but usually amazonian best friend Jessica. Clocking in at a whopping 330k words encounting, the story is a true epic, and unusually for stories concerning a macrophilia fetish, primarily explores the affection and camaraderie between a giant girl and a normal-sized boy.

BFG Angleland depicts Jessica as a reluctant giantess heroine, a girl whose normal height is well over 100 feet tall and capable of wielding great strength and power, who feels quite vulnerable and out-of-place but for her best friend Tucker. A magic dress acts as a plot device to enable Jessica to shrink down to a 'mere' 8 feet tall, though her size is still a significant barrier to feeling like she's the same as other people.

Tucker is a blacksmith's son who dreams of adventure, fame and glory. Cheeky, resourceful and a little bit foolhardy, he is the only person who has no fear of Jessica's great size and treats her like a normal person. The relationship between the two revolves around Tucker's quest for treasure, and Jessica trying to keep him out of trouble, as they roam across the Kingdom of Angleland.

I've imagined my own take on these two characters, rendering an image of Jessica at her full, 'normal' size and one at her smallest height of 8' 2". Jessica is decribed as very beautiful, with long brown hair and hazel eyes, wearing a simple cream-coloured dress and shoes. Tucker is average height with a little bit of muscle, sporting short black hair and brown eyes, wearing a few pieces of armour over his clothes and his trusty sword Juggernaut.

A number of stories I find engrossing deal with powerful giantesses who are confident, brattish bullies, or themes that incorporate humiliation and subjugation on a level that makes the reality of an enormous woman that much more visceral, but probably my favourite narratives are ones that explore what happens when a giantess is subject to the fears and frailties of a normal human. I like the idea that a giantess can be vulnerable, fragile, scared, isolated and in need of help despite her physical 'gifts' - fed up of being pigeonholed as a monster or freak, run away from, misunderstood and lonely.

With Jessica, this is exaggerated because she is so gentle, empathetic and kind, at odds with the anticipated behaviour of an enormous being, at least in the minds of panicky ordinary folk, who expect death and destruction. This kind of trope reversal is very heart-warming, and very effective.

As with my own story GH-X2, the dichotomy between a a confident, overwhelming and dominant giantess, and a protective, kind and surprisingly vulnerable one, is something I've become fascinated by in recent years. The 'evil' aspects of macrophilia can be intoxicating as a form of escapism, being forced to submit to someone who can overwhelm and toy with you is an incredibly arousing thought, but I do also truly crave the sort of loving, gentle, humanity that can exist in spite of seemingly impractical differences in scale.

As such, I'm opening up a poll on the blog (and reinstating all of the old ones which seem to have inexplicably lost hundreds of votes) to see which aspects of evil and gentle giantess fiction people like. Assuming you're the smaller of the pair, how would you like to be treated by a giant person? Please fill in all that apply - I myself ticked several of both evil and gentle, and also, the last two options cover whether you like to capitulate and become a pet/slave/secondary person within any given scenario, or whether you fight to retain your independence/freedom/humanity at all costs.

G H - X 2 --- F A I R C H I L D

I've recently updated my long-term Mini-Giantess story GH-X2, taking it up to Chapter 16 now, and just over 45,000 words. It's the only proper story I've ever tried to write, and by far the longest and most thorough project I've ever stuck at.

When I first started writing it, I simply wanted to create a narrative based on my 'ultimate' or 'ideal' scenario with a giantess, the one that most of my renders and concepts revolve around. In time it's become a big mirror, reflecting my quest to unearth how I truly feel about this kink, and what I actually crave from it, rightly or wrongly.

It deals with some pretty heavy themes, like the stripping away of humanity, and the sense of injustice felt by a small individual e.g. Jack (Protagonist / Depiction of the author), and the murky middle ground between craving an equal relationship with unobtainable, beautiful, superior girls e.g. Penny (Ingenue / Girl Next Door), and wanting to bedominated and treated like a plaything by them e.g. Caitlin (Antagonist / Tsundere).

Penny represents the intrinsically kind, good, gentle giantess that I wish to have a loving, equal companionship with, who can see past the size difference, or makes it into a positive thing.

Caitlin represents the absurdly sexy, untamed, dominant and at-a-push evil side of a giantess that makes me feel inadequate and doubt myself, because she uses the size difference against me.

The power play in most of my favourite stories is very much the Caitlin type of model - helpless men being toyed with at a Mini-Giantess sort of size ratio. I find it impossibly erotic, even though in real life, it would terrify me, and probably scar me. My other favourite stories, which I don't find erotic, but I do find soul-enriching, deal with relationships with beautiful souls like Penny. Both these sides of the coin are slowly being dealt with in GH-X2.

There is a fictitious figure in semi-popular culture who very closely aligns to my vision of a 'dream girl'. As a not-very-interested-in-comics-unless-they-have-giant-ladies-in kinda guy, it took me a long time to find out about all of the very tall or giant comic book heroines, and Caitlin Fairchild was one of the last that I discovered.

If I had known about her when I was younger, I would probably have been ridiculously infatuated with her. At 6' 4", with an amazonian, muscular build, long red hair and green eyes, she physically embodies absolutely everything I, quite independently, find crazy attractive. As a character, her persona as a bookish, nerdy girl who suddenly became stacked and insanely strong and resiliant, but retains all of her girl-next-door qualities, is also something I find very desirable.

Whilst there are obvious similarities between Fairchild and GH-X2's Caitlin physically, personality-wise it's Penny who more closely resembles a gawky, introverted girl with a towering body (though she isn't incredibly muscular and powerful). Giganta, perhaps, would be a good fit for the kind of bullying, nasty streak I've depicted, matching her relative 6' 6" in Alpha terms and acting as a very aggressive and dominant antagonist within the confines of the story.

PS: Interesting fact - I actually came up with the name for Caitlin in GH-X2 because I was looking for an appropriate name for a red-haired girl from Irish stock. Caitlin = Pure, Bridget = Strong, Reid = Red-haired. Only later did I realise I had used exactly the same name, and how similar they are in physique.

SizeCon - Poster & Video Montage.

Sadly, I wasn't able to attend the first ever SizeCon in New York City this year for a variety of reasons (mainly due to being UK-based), I would've been there in a heartbeat if I could. I'm a huge believer in what the organisers are doing for the size community, and I will try my utmost to support them, and, with a little luck, attend next year's convention.

I was, however, incredibly fortunate to have a winning poster design exhibited at the venue, and I heard that someone was able to give the artwork a home at the end of the event! It's a render of a gentle mini-giantess scenario that represents a sometimes forgotten side to my work.

This exact scale ratio stems from a retro sci-fi pin-up I found online long ago, which has the caption:

"This Martian maiden looks a treat,
But top to toe she's thirteen feet,
So hard luck spaceman, there's no joy,
When giant girl meets six foot boy."

I always thought that it was a cruel to assume there would be 'no joy'.

There is also a wonderful thread on Giantess City entitled Giantess Kiss, in which the thread owner, SantaClaus, states:

"The interest in giantesses is understood here to be sexual, though there's little sex in the giantess presentations we see here. For many people the female giant is a power symbol more than a sex symbol... ...When we see the giantess' mouth, it's usually open to devour a victim, not puckered to express affection. I've gone through the work of many of our contributors to find the simplest expression of affection, the kiss."

I first saw this striking image on a birthday card given to me by my girlfriend several years ago - it depicts a scene from Gulliver's Travels. I had somehow never caught sight of it before, and it's always stuck with me. I like the politeness and delicacy of it, though I'm by no means a fan of grovelling or envisioning giantesses as goddesses to be served, I think it's more of a sign of respect; a poignant, appreciative gesture from a small man to a giant lady. I included a small nod to this image in my SizeCon poster entry, though if truth be told, I probably did it because even on a stepladder he can't reach her lips...

In addition, I volunteered myself at the eleventh hour to help Jitensha & Bryan piece together a video medley that showcased various niches of the 'size community' in contemporary media to be screened as part of the 'Size in Popular Culture' panel at the con. 90% of the content was curated by them, all I really did is throw their picks together alongside a few choices of my own, title the clips as accurately as possible, and set it to a soundtrack - though I hope it's an enjoyable watch!

N.B. The fullscreen option doesn't work, instead click the 'Pop-out' icon to view it in HD via Google Drive, and download it if you like! This is the original version I created - for the music heard during the SizeCon screening (picked by Jitensha) sync the vid up with this
